Late goals are a killer. There was Fiacre reasonably expecting a draw between Belgium and Russia when the Belgians messed up his evening. But at least the late goal from Portugal, while probably not enough to save them, gave joy to the seven people who had a draw for that game.

And that draw has moved Conor Ralph to within 7.5 points of the lead. With 16 games to go the ultimate winner could still come from any of the top 12 or 13 but realistically anything more than a 10 point gap may be impossible to close .

For today's games the interesting ones for this competition are Mexico v Croatia and Netherlands v Chile the results of which could influence the top of the table.

The pressure mounts!
